I heard a song one day on FM radio while driving from Maryland to Phila.

Traffic was heavy so I had no time to really conentrate on the song and they never said the song name or artist afterwards (I hate when they do that!). It will be hard to figure it out because I have little facts about it that I can recall, but here they are:

1. sounded like a female, solo, black singer. Voice was unusual..alien sounding, like a cross between Tracy Chapman & Kosheen but a bit rougher.

2. had the words 'I keep fallin' in the bridge or near chorus. the rest was sort of hard to understand because the singer sung low and did not really use a lot of vibrato or inflection.

3. percussion was very interesting with a few different things going on...I recall it having a hypnotic type of sound...the beat drew you in more than anything.

4. It was in a minor key and singer sung in a low voice...voice had a rough sound like a man, but I am pretty sure it was a woman.

5. song sounded like pop mixed with a bit of jazz undertones..might have been a nice coffee shop song, was not too upbeat nor too slow.

6. song had a melancholic sound, a bit depressing, and that feeling went on throughout the song..it did not lift up nor become happy.

7. this is not a very 'popular' song as I have never heard it nor of it before.

All of these elements made it a song I just loved because it was so different with catchy percussion and melancholic feel. I'd appreciate any help!!
